Tips

Passport Requirement

Please verify that your passport does not expire within 6 months of your travel dates.

Aruba ED Card

View Link
Aruba’s ED card is an online customs and immigration form that should be filled out within 7 days of your arrival. Be sure to have a copy as proof for when you arrive in Aruba.

Language: English is widely spoken in Aruba, but the main languages are Dutch and Papiamento, which is unique to the ABC islands of Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao.
Cash: It’s always a good idea to carry some cash. The local currency is the Aruba Florin, but exchanging U.S. dollars isn’t necessary. U.S. dollars are accepted across the island.
Electronics: U.S. travelers don’t need adapters.
Visas: Not required for U.S., Canadian, EU, and most South American travelers.
Safety: Aruba is generally safe, but always stay aware of your surroundings.

Arrival Tips

View: Sit on the left side of the plane for stunning views as you land.
Customs: You can choose to use a live agent or a kiosk. If you use the kiosk, note that you won’t receive a passport stamp.

Duty-Free Shopping

At baggage claim, stop at Duty-Free to purchase 1 liter of alcohol per person tax-free. You can buy more, but anything beyond that will be taxed. It’s still cheaper than regular stores.

Departure Tips

Arrive Early: Plan to arrive at the airport 2-3 hours before departure, especially on weekends.
Security: You’ll pass through security twice – once for Aruba and once for the U.S. Note that TSA PreCheck is not available, so you’ll need to remove shoes and electronics during screening.
Baggage: After checking your bag, you’ll need to collect it again after Aruba Customs and U.S. Customs, then recheck it for your flight.

Mobile Passport Control (MPC)

If you don’t have Global Entry, we recommend downloading the Mobile Passport Control (MPC) app. It’s free and speeds up U.S. Customs by letting you submit your passport and customs information on your phone. It’s quick, easy, and doesn’t require pre-approval like Global Entry.
